30 CROSSING
Little Rock, Arkansas
30 Crossing is a Kiewit-Massman Construction (KMC) joint venture design-build contract. This project widened a busy 6.7-mile corridor through downtown Little Rock, Arkansas and North Little Rock to twelve lanes between Interstate 530 in Little Rock and Interstate 40 in North Little Rock. The project also replaced the Arkansas River Bridge and improved a section of I-40 in North Little Rock.
The 30 Crossing project features nine land bridges and two river bridges constructed with 12-foot-tall steel plate girders to withstand heavy loads. The longest river span reaches 375 feet, slightly exceeding the length of a football field. The River Bridge is supported by 110 drilled shaft foundations, with diameters ranging from 6 to 10 feet.
